Tertiary students
Our successful candidate in 2007 came from a farm in a drought affected area and has made an outstanding contribution to her community as a volunteer with the Bush Fire Brigade, church, school and shire youth programs including the implementation of social and literacy programs. A component of her HSC was through Distance Education (correspondence) and she participated at the highest levels of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. Applications should be made directly to the University. Application criteria Applicants should come from a remote area of NSW and be intending to work after graduation in a country area.The course being studied should be relevant to a rural context and applicants should be able to demonstrate a strong empathy with the rural community, as well as a record of academic achievement.The scholarship of $3,000 per annum will be offered for a three year period, provided a credit grade average is maintained.
