Yanco Agricultural High School
Yanco Agricultural High School is a member of the NSW Public Education System and was established in 1922. Located in the Riverina, between Leeton and Narrandera, the school is unique in that it is co-educational and all 330 students who attend are boarders who come from all over NSW and Northern Victoria.
Yanco provides a full educational program for years 7 to 12 and the curriculum follows the requirements set down by the NSW Board of Studies with the addition that all students study agriculture. Equine and other specialist courses are available to meet the interests of students.
The school farm is a major resource for the curriculum and features a Murray Grey Stud, a White Suffolk stud, modern equestrian facility, commercial piggery, poultry, irrigated pastures and dry land farming.
As home away from home, the school has a modern commercial kitchen, spacious dining room and well equipped medical centre. The school has its own swimming pool, sporting ovals, tennis and basketball courts and many other recreational facilities. Students enjoy spacious living areas, yet each has their own personal space.
There are no tuition fees and the NSW Government sets the boarding fees each year.
